Calendario de Adviento 2018. Mueble de cocina- 2018 Advent Calendar. Kitchen furnitures

I remind you that I am participating in the Advent Calendar programmed by Matxalen and whose tutorials you can visit here.
Today we are going to make a kitchen cabinet to place the electric kitchen stove that we made in the previous entrance.

I have used 2 and 3 mm thick woods, mainly polo sticks and a couple of scrapbooking ornaments and two wooden balusters.

First I made the back with 4 vertical slats and two crossed behind.
Then I cut the rest of the pieces and proceeded to assemble the table first and then the shelves.

Notice that the board on the lower side has two notches in two of the corners to fit the balusters.

I painted the piece of furniture in white and left the board table in light oak.
The baskets have a wooden base and are made of craft paper. With some chopsticks I made the handles and painted them white.

I added on one side a wire to hang the rags.

And that's all. It is a very simple and easy to make piece of furniture. I remind you that I am still making miniatures and you can see the processes live and direct in my Instagram account.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Calendario de Adviento 2018. Cocina eléctrica- 2018 Advent Calendar. Electric cooking stove

You know that Matxalen organizes an Advent Calendar of Miniatures every year. I have the pleasure to start this year so I must say thak you for this opportunity.

This tutorial is extremely simple, and it can be useful to make suitcases or electric cooking stoves like I did.
We will need:
- Thick paper for watercolours and tempera. (I like Canson de 370g/m². It is very dense, has no texture and it does not wrinkle when is wet)
- Tin wire for welding or aluminium wire
- Jewelry beads
- A thin strip of metal (I Like to use the metallic seal of the water bottles)
- Acrilic paintings

(5 cm X 3 cm y 4,9 cm X 2,9 cm)

Cut two rectangles with rounded corners. Make one of them a 1 mm smaller for each side. (5 cm X 3 cm y 4,9 cm X 2,9 cm)

Cut two paper strips. In my case, one of 7 mm width and the other 5 mm.Glue each strip to the edge of the rectangles forming a right angle.

Cut two short incisions in one of the parts to place the hinges.

To make the hinges, I use the metallic seal of the water glass bottles. This has a rounded edge that acts as a stop for the cap will not slip off.
Cut two little pieces and bend them with a plier.

Insert the hinges through the incisions of the kitchen lid and glue them to the base of the cooking stove.

Glue two jewelry beads to make the switches

As I want to get an emanel look, first I have to aply gesso and let it dry.

Paint and apply shiny varnish. I like Diamond Glaze because it dries very quickly.

I used tin welding wire to make the resistors, but aluminium wire is also possible since its malleability. I did two spirals and aged them.

And that is all for now. I remember you that I have a busy Instagram account. Although you can see the blog a bit inactive, I continue making miniatures, and you can see the processes in Instagram in real time.
Thank you for dropping by my blog. Huges.

Muebles estilo Tudor. Tudor furniture

As you know, I have been making a Tudor dollhouse during some time. You can see all the process visiting the two previous posts.
In this post I want to let you the instructions and plans of my Tudor furniture.

Let’s start with the furniture that is under the windows of the ground floor.
The one on the left is a piece of furniture from the beginning of the 16th century, used in churches to keep the objects of the liturgy.

The furniture on the right is a cupboard. This type of furniture used to be hung, to preserve food better, however, to avoid covering the frescoes on the walls, I preferred to leave it on the floor. In this link you have all the process.

Over the refectory table, I have placed a hung support, on which contains some stuff like kitchen objects, sausages and a pheasant, made with air-drying clay, acrylic paints and some feathers.

The tools of the fireplace, are made with welded galvanized wire. I used a battery-powered Led candle to make the fire.

Hice tres modelos diferentes.

To make the lighting of all the house, I bought some standing and wall Led lanterns, and I removed the top part, leaving the bulbs naked. With screen paper, which is a translucent paper, I cut some small strips that I rolled and pasted pretending to be candles. I made three different models.

Yo he usado un marrón chocolate y después les he dado cera.

The Savonarola chair, the hall chair, the table and the refectory benches are kits from Arjen Spinhoven  They are not made of wood, but rather an ugly chipboard, so you have to paint the furniture. I used a chocolate brown and then I aplied wax.

To make the bed, first I used a pyrographer before assembling.

The chest is called a six board chest, it is pyrographed on the outside with the same motifs as the bed, and inside with a knight and a dragon. It has hinges on the inside, and on the outside I also simulated large hinges and rivets that I made with a metallic band from a bottle of wine.
In this link you have all the process.

The sidetable is so easy that only by looking the photographs it is clear how to do it.

The medieval washbasin is made with turned wood legs and an octagonal board. The water container is a wooden ball painted in gold, it hangs over the basin, which is made of thick paper. I have imitated the small deformations that were made on the metal surfaces to give them consistency. I have done it with the botton of a brush.

The portable toilet is another chest of six tables with a cardboard seat lined with fabric.

As you can see the furniture is not complicated to make, and a good option if you are not good at carving the wood, is pyrography.
I hope you find this information useful.
A warm hug and thank you for being there.
